In most cases, the tailgate can be opened without any problems even with the BackBox. To do this, the BackBox must be folded down in two steps.
In addition to the normal folding lever, the BackCarrier itself is also lowered during extended folding. This involves turning the crank, which presses against the neck of the towbar, out as far as it will go. The result is a double-down-folded BackBox, which is now positioned almost horizontally to the ground.

To use the extended folding mechanism we recommend "BackSupport - The folding aid" (Art.No. 1508)

The BackSupport modifies the base frame of the box in such a way that a steel rod can be inserted to provide increased leverage. This makes it much easier to set up the BackBox again.
